Project Playground 2.0 is hosting the 2nd annual Zombie 5K Run on October 22, 2017, with all proceeds going toward replacing the Gardner Field Playground. This ghoulish event starts and ends at Gardner Field with a Kids Fun Run option (no age limitation, just two loops around Gardner Field in a costume) at 12:00pm and the Zombie 5K run at 1:30pm.
Why zombies, and how’s it work? Runners all take off from Gardner Field and follow the 3.1 mile course looping through Denville. The zombies will have stickers and will find you along the course—as they tag you with the stickers, you slowly become a zombie. The water table at mile 2 is considered a “safe zone” and you cannot be tagged while in that area. Cross the finish line with 3 or more stickers, you are a zombie! If you cross with 2 or less, congratulations: you have survived (mwah ha ha).
The price to register is $40 until midnight on October 9, then it will increase to $45 until the day of the run. Register by October 7 and you’re guaranteed an awesome Zombie run tshirt! You can find more info at the registration page and help spread the word by sharing the Facebook event listing. Save the playground!
