Denville continues to live up to its moniker as the Hub of Morris County as evidenced by the plethora of thriving businesses around town. In 2018, there are a number of new businesses in the pipeline, all of which are aimed to add a new dimension to the evolving landscape of our vibrant town.
I personally haven’t had a chance to interview or visit any of the new businesses, but from the looks of it, many of us might already be familiar with a couple of the business owners. I hope to reach out to these new businesses and/or try them out for myself. For now, here’s a round up of just a few businesses that I’m looking forward to in 2018:
1. Fort Nonsense Brewery
This brewery whose name is a nod to Fort Nonsense which was said to be used by Washington’s Army when they came to came to Morristown after the battles of Trenton and Princeton during the Revolutionary War. Owned by the Aslanian brothers, Fort Nonsense Brewery is creating a history of their own.

According to The Daily Record, Fort Nonsense is partnering with Bitter End Hops Farm in Randolph to get their hops, and local roasters for coffee-infused beers. Fort Nonsense confirmed these partnerships with relevant reveals on Facebook. The brewery has made quite the buzz on social media by sharing their upcoming flavors and updates on their progress. Fort Nonsense Brewery officially opens for business this weekend on January 27.
2. Playa Bowls Denville
Playa Bowls Denville has been creating their own buzz over on 4 Broadway. This new business has been sharing a taste of the different types of bowls and smoothies that they will be serving. For those who haven’t had a playa bowl, these fruit bowls feature acai berries, coconut, pitaya and more. Playa Bowls have been spotted at beachy locales, but have been popping up in our area, with another location in Morristown. An official opening date has not been announced, but be sure to follow the colorful shares on Instagram and Facebook. I’ll be sure to share more information soon!
From taste to texture the bowls Playa Bowls Denville NJ will be packed with health-boosting, super-satisfying flavors!…
3. The Pasta Shop
The Pasta Shop is another anticipated business opening in Downtown Denville. Taking over the space on 13 First Ave., The Pasta Shop is said to be another venture from Sergio Sciancalepore. If it’s any indication from the lines waiting for the delicious eats at Sergio & Co., The Pasta Shop already has a built-in fanbase in Denville. Word on the street is that The Pasta Shop is opening very soon.
I’m looking forward to each one of these businesses! Best wishes for a prosperous journey to all of these new businesses. Have you seen any other new businesses in town? What has you excited in 2018?
