Father’s Day Gift Guide

Father’s Day Gift Guide

With Father’s coming up this weekend, I’ve rounded up some fun gift ideas for the guys who mean the most. Every dad has different interests, so we’re gathering local shopping ideas and experiences that the whole family can enjoy.

1. Google Home

Google Home is our latest and absolute favorite gadget to our home. Google Home is a virtual home assistant that is connected to your smart home and can assist with so many things. We love requesting music, requesting shows to play on our Chromecast, asking the weather and playing trivia. Google Home does so much and definitely changes the tech landscape of the connected home.

2. Weber Gas Grill

Grilling season is officially underway. There are so many awesome grills on the market right now, but the most recognizable brands are those that boast both the latest grilling innovations and longstanding reputations. Local retailer, Pelican Shops, has knowledgeable salespeople who can help navigate all the various options. My husband prefers a good-sized gas grill with burner and a few extras such as the Genesis II E-410. Be sure to stop in to Pelican to check out all the options and ongoing sales.

3. Reebok CrossFit Nano 7

While we might not be in the best shape, we’re always striving to be better. My husband’s commitment as a dad has been to be present on the field, whether it’s as a coach or a super passionate dad in the stands. Since we’re always out and about, I’m always on the hunt for the great athletic gear. Reebok has some great new sneakers that touts new technology. Specifically made for CrossFitters by CrossFitters, Reebok’s CrossFit Nano 7 features a flexible bottom for mobility, as well as an Ortholight sock liner for comfort and a crystallized rubber outsole for stability.

4. Day at a Museum

If your family loves creating fun crafts or loves to spend the day at City museums, check out the Children’s Museum of Manhattan. They have a lot of fun programs, but this Duck Tape craft would be a perfect activity with a fun gift to bring home for Father’s Day. Be sure to check out the food festival, too!

5. Stand Up Paddle Board

Stand Up Paddle Boards have become quite popular in recent years. There are so many excellent options available and we have our eyes on a board like this Bic Ace Tec Cross.

6. Day at the Zoo

Turtle Back Zoo has added so many new features within the past few years. Most recently—as in, within the past few weeks—Turtle Back Zoo has added lions and hyenas to their growing zoo. Looking for a more experiential gift for dad? Get outdoors and enjoy this gem in Essex County. What I love the most about Turtle Back is that it’s a good size zoo without being TOO big to conquer. The sea lions, giraffes and stingrays are among are favorite new additions. Pack a picnic and enjoy at the park or make it a full day outing and enjoy McLoone’s right down the street after a day at the zoo. It looks like Turtle Back has some fun Father’s Day specials going on this weekend, too!

Camel rides for Father's Day! This weekend only. Friday, June 16th through Sunday, June 18th. $7 per rider. 10AM to 4:30PM. Some restrictions may apply.
