Denville Recreation Kid’s Triathlon to be held on August 12


This year’s Kid’s Tri Harder Triathlon will be held on August 12 at Cook’s Pond in Denville at 8:30am.

The age groups are divided into 4-6, 6-8, 9-10 and 11 to 14. The distance varies by age bracket, with ages 4-6 at 25 Yard Swim, 1/2 Mile Bike, 1/4 Mile Run on up to ages 13-14 at 100 Yard Swim, 2 Mile Bike, 1.5 Mile Run. Registration is required for this kids’ non-competitive triathalon. Registration is limited for each age group and ends on August 9, so be sure to register early.

According to the event organizers:

Ages are per age at event date. Pre-registration is required – no walk in registrations will be taken on event day. All swimming starts are in the water. This event is rain or shine.

This event is part of the regional Kids Triathlon series with Morris Township (July 13th), Randolph Township (August 3rd) and Chester Township (August 24th).

 

Participation medals will be awarded to all participants, no individual awards will be distributed. Times are not certified – this is a recreational event. Times will be posted for all who finish.
